Facing a Chronic Condition Crisis

In the United States, depression is the leading cause of disability among the working population and results in almost 400 million disability days per year.1 The existing mental health crisis worsened during the COVID-19 pandemic, with the proportion of US adults reporting symptoms of anxiety or depression rising from 10% up to 40%.

Mental health coexists and interacts with general health issues, contributing to more complex conditions over time. Not only are they more complex, but they’re more difficult to treat and expensive. Co-existing conditions is having a big impact on the current workplace.
