Dan Clark, CEO with Uprise Health (formerly IBH Solutions) was recently interviewed by Jeanne Sahadi with CNN for an article about how managers can help employees who are dealing with mental health risks. Mr. Clark emphasized the need for communication and to communicate often with employees about taking care of themselves. In addition to reading the Full Article, here are some useful tips you can use to help employees stay healthy today so they can bounce back stronger.

  • Let employees know they’re not alone. Send email reminders, and post all available resources (EAP, wellness, etc.) to a centralized intranet site, link to mental help resources in company newsletter or blog.
  • Schedule routine check-ins with employees. Take time to ask about personal life, families, and what they are doing during their “off times.”
  • Host a wellness webinar or Q&A session. Educate employees on mental health and other issues impacting the workforce.
  • Use an EAP. We are here to help. Employees have access to free and confidential short-term counseling by phone or video. Our staff clinicians talk with you, thoughtfully assess your issues, and then connect you with the most appropriate services, based on your individual needs.
